RGA offers a work based rehabilitation and recovery programme for each resident. Taking learnings and inspiration from other recovery projects around the world, we are creating a model and programme that is appropriate for RGA, one in which our residents play a key part in shaping.

Through structured and purposeful work, residents regain self esteem, develop new skills and create a new identity and personal social environment. As residents progress and grow on their recovery journey, appropriate increasing levels of responsibility and accountability are given across a wide range of skills and tasks.

At RGA, the active and full participation of all residents in our social enterprises is essential for their own recovery journey and to contribute to the economic sustainability of the IFDAS charity and entire social enterprise that is River Garden, Auchincruive. We aim for high standards across all of our activities, and everyone is aware that his or her work really matters and makes a difference.

Our goal is for each and every resident to regain the life skills and overall sense of wellbeing to be confident to re enter the workplace outside RGA at the time that is right for them and to build a healthy and personally fulfilling future. Some of our residents may take the opportunity stay on at RGA and play a full part in running a social enterprise.

All surplus income from our enterprises are reinvested back into RGA as we look to grow the organisation, create additional places for more residents and further extend our enterprises and work opportunities.

As we develop our social enterprises, we do also require additional finance support including through donations and pro bono assistance. No fees are charged to any resident, this is a key part of our model to break down any barrier to starting the recovery journey here at RGA.
