Aftercare and Resettlement

Your Lifelong Connection

The end of your residential programme is not the end of our commitment; it's the confident beginning of your next chapter. We ensure your transition back to independent living is seamless, supported, and secure. We begin planning for this move-on early in your stay.

The Confident Transition

We provide intensive, personal support during the critical period immediately following discharge:

  • Dedicated Key Worker Support: Your Key Worker travels with you to provide crucial support during resettlement. This includes facilitating your return home, supporting reconnection with family, and actively liaising with local support networks and agencies. We ensure all necessary ongoing support structures are firmly in place before we step back.
  • A Continuous Network: We work to ensure you have a robust safety net, connecting you with specialist local services and mutual aid groups (AA, NA, SMART) to secure the continuous support you need to thrive. We also host mutual aid groups on-site at River Garden.

Remaining a Friend of River Garden

We view every graduate as a lifelong member of the River Garden family, not merely a past resident.

  • Volunteer Engagement: We warmly invite you to remain actively engaged as a volunteer at River Garden, proximity permitting. This is a powerful way to reinforce your sobriety through service and mentorship.
  • Access to Support: As a volunteer, you can continue to access the full range of on-site training, support programme elements, and activities that form the core of our recovery model. You retain our full, dedicated support in your ongoing recovery.

Our Lasting Promise

Your relationship with River Garden is sustained through accessibility and care:

  • Continued Key Worker Access: You can continue to contact your Key Worker directly - in person, by phone, or online - whichever is easiest and most effective for you.
  • Unwavering Support: Recovery is a journey you will continue to embark upon, and we promise to always be here to support you in that journey, providing guidance and connection whenever you need it.
