June Administrator

Meet the River Garden Team: June

June, who joined the River Garden team on Monday, May 19th, 2025, is the administrative linchpin who keeps the entire service running safely and securely—and manages to do it all while laughing!

June’s role is one of crucial importance: she provides the full-time administrative support that ensures all staff, residents, volunteers, and visitors feel safe and secure by administering those essential PVG checks. She is, quite simply, the unsung hero enabling River Garden to function, though she remains touchingly unaware of just how highly everyone values her contributions!

A true trooper, June has displayed remarkable resilience, having to masterfully adapt and respond to the rapid changes thrown at River Garden since her arrival. When asked what she would change about the site, she politely requested improvements to the heating, lighting, and staff toilets...  (you need to experience our office to appreciate that need for change!), yet she still turns up every single day, seeing beyond the sometimes chilly reality to focus entirely on the brilliant staff and residents around her. June knows that River Garden is special because, as she puts it, "It is just a lovely place to be part of with a great team of lovely people to work alongside. Positive happenings are slowly changing the direction of River Garden."

Outside of work, June is happy when she is watching and following the Glasgow Clan Ice Hockey team with her family and friends, or simply spending lots of time with her family and going for walks. Her favorite film is the classic Mighty Ducks 2. She finds joy in simple things, noting that seeing "others around me happy and content," alongside a truly good joke told by someone else, always makes her smile.

For June, recovery is defined as "the process of healing, self-discovery and hopefully a path to a healthier and more balanced life." Her top tip for anyone considering joining River Garden, whether to work or live, is straightforward: "Just be yourself, take all the time you need to settle in and feel comfortable in your new exciting surroundings."

Finally, keep an eye out for June in 2026! She will be working closely with Yvonne to launch and coordinate our exciting new volunteering initiative, bringing her organisational prowess to a new part of the service.
